Qatar: Driving the Future
Qatar is one of the fastest growing economies in the world and is thus a very attractive business destination.
The economic growth of Qatar has been mainly based on its petroleum and natural gas industries. However, according to the Qatar National Vision 2030, economic policy is focused on developing non-energy sectors. The aim is to transform the current carbon-based economy to an advanced, competitive and knowledge-based economy.
HEC Paris in Qatar
HEC Paris joined Qatar Foundation in June 2010, bringing world-class Executive Education programs and research activity to Doha and the region. It is the first European Partner in Education City.
In this context, HEC Paris offers a complete portfolio of management programs, including Qatar’s first international Executive MBA, a Specialized Master's degree in Strategic Business Unit Management, as well as non-degree management programs for executives, in the form of Executive Short Programs. One of the world's top providers of Executive Education programs for the last 8 years, HEC Paris also offers custom-designed programs for individual companies.
The programs and research activities of HEC Paris in Qatar build corporate competitiveness within the global economy and are fully aligned with Qatar National Vision 2030 to support the transformation of Qatar into an advanced, competitive and knowledge-based economy.
Sharing Our Academic Knowledge
HEC Paris has launched a Research Office in Qatar to further its contribution to the realization of a knowledge-based economy in Qatar that goes beyond providing the world’s best executive education programs in the region by launching. The Research Office, created with the support of the Qatar Foundation, is sourcing potential funding from the Qatar National Research Fund (QNRF), Qatar Foundation Research & Development (QF R&D) as well as local and regional companies.
The Research Office will focus on the development of pedagogical content such as writing business case studies on local companies, innovative academic research that will be published in prestigious journals, the facilitation of post-doctorate and PhD student grants and fellowships, collaboration with academic and business communities in Qatar, and the organization of ‘Focus on Research’ events, workshops and conferences.
